In 1947, Christian Dior shed post-war austerity and introduced the world to his New Look. In 2013, Saks was looking for an equally audacious approach that could tie all of its marketing together. I borrowed the word "LOOK" from Mr. Dior and used it in a thousand different ways to enliven our first truly omni-channel campaign.
Each catalog had its own take on the word LOOK.
We gave customers the history behind the trends.
We helped customers MASTER THE LOOK with beauty tips, tutorials and master classes.
One catalog focused on the MAKING OF A LOOK, featuring quotes and interviews conducted with eleven major designers who explained how they put looks together.
I featured the designers' insights everywhere, from stores to social media channels and even HR training materials.
The concept successfully tied together all marketing channels, and quickly became a model for future campaigns.
